Introduction: Friedreich ataxia (FA) is a multisystem autosomal recessive disease with progressive clinical course involving the neuromuscular and endocrine system. Individuals with FA have an increased risk of developing diabetes. In FA-associated diabetes, both insulin deficiency and insulin resistance have been reported.
